Hydro Power Plant in NeubruckThe architecture of the hydro power plant in Neubruck assumes the role of a mediator between the human being and a renewable and distributed energy solution.
The architectural design is based on the breakup of the technical body. The "gray giant cube" that surrounds the technical and functional conditions is desintegrated and "humanized". How to access the river and how to conduct the visitors towards the element water were top priority in the design. The strict separation between the materials which distinguish the walkable and wrapping parts from the technical area is intended to clearly communicate the building structure. The effected visual relationships allow to experience the connection between structure, water flow direction, energy conversion via the deep fall of water and the surrounding landscape.
