SPOT ON Wien - Selection of Exhibits & Jury
To select the exhibits for the SPOT ON Wien exhibition in Tokyo during 100% Design Tokyo, an online call was held open to submissions in the fields of furniture, product design, lighting, outdoor and tableware.
The selection combined 2 steps: By means of the online voting system on PureAustrianDesign.com, the international jury selected 34 out of a total of 250 entries. The jury evaluated the entries according to the criteria of innovation, formal and technological quality, aesthetic standards and functionality.
The second step comprised a jury meeting in Vienna where the "5 Faces of The Year", 5 currently relevant and trendsetting designers and companies, were selected.
JURY
To guarantee high expertise and full independence, the jury was formed by internationally renowned experts, including
- Peter Zec (red dot award) | head of jury
- Alison Clarke (University for Applied Arts)
- Lilli Hollein (Vienna Design Week)
- Norbert Kettner (Vienna Tourist Board)
- Uli Marchsteiner (Designer and Curator based in Barcelona)
- Julia Taubinger & Andrés Fredes (JULAND *BarcelonaVienna)
- Maxim Velčovsky (studio Qubus, Prague)
