Around 600 design enthusiasts attended the opening ceremony in FAD exhibition hall, filling to bursting point the room between the white exhibition platforms. With the musical ambience provided by DJ Karl Möstl, who had flown in from Austria and showcased his personal interpretation of the "Sound of Vienna", the guests enjoyed selected tapas from the buffet and cast an interested eye over the design objects on display. This event signalled the start of the 18 days show which featured 80 design objects in all their glory.
